Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Quick Webster ("we", "us"), the developer of the LinguaMitra app (package com.linguamitra.aitutor), collects, uses and protects your information when you use the app.
1. Information we collect

2. How your voice is processed
When you start a session, the audio from your microphone is sent securely (encrypted in transit) to Google's Gemini AI through Firebase AI Logic so the tutor can listen and respond. We do not save audio recordings on our servers or on your device. Text transcripts of the conversation are created so you can read captions, review the session and receive feedback. Please do not share sensitive personal information (such as financial or health details) during conversations.
3. How we use information
- Provide the AI tutoring service, lessons, reminders and progress tracking.
- Personalise the tutor's teaching (level, interests, recurring mistakes).
- Enforce free-plan limits and manage subscriptions.
- Keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- Understand how features are used so we can improve them (aggregated analytics).
- Show ads in the free version (see section 4A).
We do not sell your personal data. Your conversations, transcripts and voice are never used for advertising.
4. Service providers we use
We rely on the following Google services, which process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies:
- Firebase Authentication – sign-in.
- Cloud Firestore – secure cloud storage of your profile and learning data.
- Firebase AI Logic / Google Gemini – real-time voice conversation, lesson plans and feedback reports.
- Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, App Check – analytics, crash reports, configuration and abuse protection.
- Google Play Billing – subscriptions and payments.
- Google AdMob and the Google User Messaging Platform – ads in the free version and ad-consent management.

4A. Ads in the free version
- The free version of LinguaMitra shows ads (banner ads, occasional full-screen ads at natural breaks, and optional rewarded ads that give bonus practice minutes). LinguaMitra Pro has no ads.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use your device's Advertising ID and cookies to show and measure ads. See how Google uses data in ads.
- Ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences (rating PG). Ads are never shown during a live tutor session.
- Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice any time in Settings → About & Support → Privacy & ad choices.
- You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
5. Storage, security and retention
- Your data is stored on your device and in Cloud Firestore. Security rules ensure each user can access only their own data.
- All network traffic is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
- We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your history or account, the data is removed from our database, normally within 30 days (backups and logs held by our providers expire on their own schedules).
6. Your choices and rights
- Delete practice history: Settings → Privacy → "Delete all practice history" (keeps your account).
- Delete account and all data: Settings → Account → "Delete account". You can also request deletion on the web: Delete your account.
- Edit your profile at any time in Settings.
- Microphone and notifications can be turned off in your phone's settings.
- Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or the GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, erase or withdraw consent for your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.
7. Children
LinguaMitra is intended for users aged 13 and above. We ask for age confirmation during onboarding and do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, contact us and we will delete the data.
8. AI-generated content
The tutor's replies, corrections and reports are generated by AI and may occasionally be inaccurate. Safety filters are applied, and you can report a problem from any session.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above will change, and significant changes will be shown in the app.
